Timeline of Transavia International Shipping

1968 – The Origins

Fiorentino Antonio, after gaining experience in civil aviation and foreseeing the incredible evolution of the aeronautical industry, founds TRANSAVIA Srl – International Shipping in Milan. It is a period of great growth for the Italian industry, which exports high-quality goods worldwide. Air transport becomes the primary method for moving goods. At a time when cargo planes and wide-body aircraft do not yet exist, shipping 500 kg to New York on a DC8 is a pioneering feat. Transavia is among the first companies to do so, quickly obtaining IATA certification.

1975 – Expansion into the Maritime Sector

Thanks to its excellent air freight services, clients begin requesting maritime shipping as well. Always attentive to market needs, Transavia launches a sea freight division, which grows rapidly. With the introduction of customized containers and the LCL (Less than Container Load) service, maritime shipments soon reach and surpass air freight volumes.

1978 – Italian Fashion Takes Over the World

Italian fashion becomes a global excellence, and Transavia ships hanging garments worldwide, supporting the fashion industry with specialized logistics solutions.

1992 – Customs Operator

Transavia becomes a Customs Operator, obtaining authorization to manage an internal customs procedure, streamlining clearance operations for its clients.

1990s – Growth in the Food Industry

Italian food products gain international recognition and demand increases. Transavia responds by opening a refrigerated shipping division, training personnel to handle perishable goods while maintaining the cold chain.

2000s – Family Management and Certifications

The company’s growth continues with the entry of Fiorentino Antonio’s daughter, who focuses on developing relationships with agents and clients worldwide, strengthening Transavia’s global presence. The company obtains important certifications, including: • ENAC (for security), • AEOF (for customs services), • ISO 9001 (for quality).

AEO-F

What is AEO certification? AEO is the attestation of "Authorized Economic Operator" which is issued by the Customs Agency to operators who, by making a request, meet the quality requirements as they are deemed suitable for the acquisition of this certificate. The AEO certificate is therefore a "status", a certified condition of the subject on its reliability situation in relation to the customs authorities ensuring strict compliance with the customs regulations and product safety. This procedure regulates the relations between the authorities involved in the control of international trade and the subjects in question. Moreover, this certification of reliability and solvency are associated with a series of advantages that vary according to the type of certificate. The AEO F certification guarantees:

• Better relations with the customs authority;
• Increased speed in customs operations;
• Mutual recognition with other security programs of third countries.

ENAC - National Civil Aviation Authority

What is Enac certification? The ENAC - National Civil Aviation Authority has recognized Transavia as a regulated agent. This qualification allows us to carry out checks in our warehouse, in an area of 2,000 square meters, defined as a “sterile area”, which guarantee the safety of the goods in export. Goods certified by us are not subjected to further checks at the airport with a consequent saving of time, money and bureaucracy. The warehouse staff is duly trained and certified in order to perform the acceptance and handling of the goods in export, according to the established procedures.

Transavia offers the possibility of customs clearance of imported goods at any airport/port in Italy with deliveries throughout the country. It provides the Customer with a staff with decades of experience for personalized management of shipments. Customers who need it are also given the possibility of activating all-risk insurance coverage or that meets their needs.
